Audio-branding is a powerful tool for businesses

Audio-branding is an important tool for enhancing branding of a company. It helps to establish an emotional connection with customers, create a distinct and recognisable sonic identity, and improve brand recall and recognition. Which leads to increase of sales and revenue, which is the ultimate goal of any business.

Audio-branding enhances branding of a company:

1). Music and sound have the power to evoke emotions and thus create a memorable experience for customers. It helps to establish a strong emotional connection with customers.

2). Audio-branding helps to create a distinct and recognisable sonic identity for the brand. This identity can be used across various marketing channels, such as advertising, on-hold messages, and in-store soundscapes, to create a cohesive and consistent brand experience for customers.

3). Audio-branding can help to enhance brand recall and recognition. A strong sonic identity can make the brand more memorable and easier to recall, which can lead to increased customer retention and sales.

When a company already has an established brand platform, it can still benefit from implementing audio-branding as a way to enhance its branding efforts.

Here are some key rules for approaching audio-branding when a company has an established brand platform:

Stay true to the brand's existing identity: When developing an audio-branding strategy, it's important to stay true to the brand's existing visual identity and messaging. The sonic identity should complement and reinforce the brand's existing image and values.

Identify the brand's core values and messaging: Before creating any sound or music, it's important to identify the brand's core values, messaging, and overall brand strategy. This will help to ensure that the audio-branding is aligned with the brand's existing positioning.

Consider the brand's target audience: Understanding the brand's target audience is critical when developing an audio-branding strategy. The sonic identity should resonate with the target audience and help to create a strong emotional connection with them.

There are many examples of companies that have successfully used audio-branding to #branding #music #advertising #marketing #brand enhance their branding.

While the best known examples are probably Intel (5 notes' iconic jingle), McDonlad's (I'm loving it in multiple different styles), and MasterCard, my favourites are:

Singapore Airlines. Their sonic identity features a combination of gentle chimes and orchestral music, combining heritage and modernity.

Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG). The new sonic identity was designed to evoke a sense of excitement and anticipation, and to remind passengers of the many cultural and historical attractions of Paris.

The use of music and soundscapes was meant to create a festive and celebratory atmosphere, while also reinforcing the airport's reputation for elegance and sophistication.
